Professor Tim Newton

Tim Newton is Professor of Psychology as Applied to Dentistry and Head of Oral Health Services Research at the King’s College London Dental Institute. In dentistry his particular interests include self-perceived oral health and quality of life, the working life of the dental team, patients’ perceptions of treatment and the development of self help programmes for individuals with dental anxiety.

Outside dentistry he has published in the fields of eating disorders (anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa) and intellectual disability (in particular the assessment and management of aberrant and stereotyped behaviours). His long term goal to become a rock star now seems unlikely to come to fruition!
